a5c7b9f00b The teacher and aspirant writer Clint Hadson returns from New York to the house of his mother in Ft. Chicken, Illinois, to write a horror novel and worksubstitute in the local elementary school. He meets his former schoolmate and crush Lucy McCormick, who is also a teacher and is dating the strong teacher Wade Johnson. Meanwwhile the student Shelly Linker eats a chicken nugget contaminated with a virus. During Clint's class, Shelley is bullied by the boy Patriot and bites him on the face. During the playtime, the infection is spread in the yard among the students that eat the school staff. Soon the teachers find under siege of the zombie students. Will they survive the attack? A mysterious virus hits an isolated elementary school, transforming the kids into a feral swarm of mass savages. An unlikely hero must lead a motley band of teachers in the fight of their lives. The absurdity of Cooties starts right in the opening credits so there is instant understanding the story-line is going to be a bit ridiculous. Right from the start, Elijah Wood's self-deprecating character turns out to be a strong comedic lead and the surrounding cast of Rainn Wilson, Alison Pill and Leigh Whannell put together an eclectic mix of strange characters. One-liners throughout the film have more hit then miss moments, but sometimes the comedy halts the intensity of the zombie action. The idea of having zombie childrenthe villainous subject with adult teachers having to survive and kill some of them off is a ballsy concept that I applaud the writers for taking. Cooties is a fun movie with absolutely no serious backbone to it at all, so in terms of entertainment value it's quite high, but in no way leaves a lasting impression in the slightest. Delightful and funny! There's nothing very original in this comedy but that's what it makes it so pleasant to watch. It's a zombie movie with children and people who are not afraid of them… Teacher deserves indeed all of our respect! It's really great written and directed. There's some length that a great editing makes forget. If you want to have fun, you're in the right place with this movie. Cooties, while suitably gross and buoyed by game performances, doesn’t exploit its concept nearlywellit should.
